See Who You’ll Be Working With

Meet our Senior Staff! With decades of Camp Skyline experience, our leadership team is here to help train, encourage, and support our camp staff.

Sally & Larry Johnson - Owners and Directors

Sally first came to Skyline as a camper in 1977. Her love for children and camp led her to be a counselor and later a Director and part owner in 1997. Sally attended Auburn University and graduated from Jacksonville State University in 1993 with a bachelors degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.

Larry graduated from Florida State University with a bachelors degree in physical education in 1992. While there he was a member of the FSU Flying High Circus. He joined the Skyline staff in 1995 and built the Skyline Circus which has been “flying high” ever since. During the summer, Larry runs CampStuff and directs the winter groups program when camp is out.

Ivy McCoy - Summer Director

Ivy started at Skyline in the summer of 2013 as a Senior Counselor and Administrative Intern. Later that fall, after graduating from Jacksonville State University with a degree in Recreation Leadership, Ivy took part in the Administrative Team for the summer of 2014. Since then, she served as the Daytime Program Director for eight summers. She now serves at Camp Skyline as Summer Director and lives on campus with her husband Brett and daughters Lola Kate and Louise.

Frances Estes Lindsey - Camp Mom & Alumni Relations

Frances began her years at Skyline in 1975 as a young camper. She later graduated from Birmingham Southern College in 1992 with a degree in Human Resource Management and then received her Masters from Samford University in Early and Elementary Childhood Education. Her wonderful nine years as a camper inspired her to send her two daughters to Skyline as well. Her son also helped out with the Caving, Survival and Repelling class on campus. She now serves as Camp Mom and Alumnae Director at Skyline and spends her time loving on camp families ages 6-106. Having recently moved to the Mentone area, she and her husband own Little River Hardware Store and have fallen in love with this unique community. When Frances is not working at camp she enjoys traveling to see her extended family, cooking and reading lots of books.

Evan Roberts - Assistant Director - Nighttime Programs & Special Events

Evan started coming to Skyline in the summer of 2013. Evan was a camper until she aged out in 2018. Evan was a junior counselor in 2019, senior counselor in 2022, and Riverside head in 2023. Evan also served as head of canoeing for two summers. After graduating from The University Of Alabama with a degree in Hospitality Management and a concentration in Event Planning, Evan immediately moved to Camp Skyline to work full time as an Assistant Director over night time activities and special events.
